OVER MANUFACTURED SOAP?
The most common ingredient in store-bought soaps is lye (sodium tallowate, lard, or animal fat- usually pork). Lye has been used in soap as far back as ancient Roman times. Even though it's a tried and true way to make soap, it can have adverse side effects that affect your skin's health. This is why we make an alternative to soap, KAOLIN CLEANSING CLAY BARS.
It's no lye! Allergies can cause skin issues when lye is mixed with chemicals and additives such as those added to manufactured soap. Lye soaps are already alkaline without all the chemicals, affecting the skin's PH balance in some people. This can trigger inflammation and reduce skin barrier properties. Many manufactured soaps contain artificial colors, perfumes, alcohol, and chemical-filled deodorizers, which can cause skin issues such as psoriasis, eczema, or dry skin.
